Biking Santo Domingo

Zona Colonial, Distrito Nacional, Dominican Republic
During my trip to Santo Domingo I had planned on renting a bike and had looked up bike rental places. Monday afternoon it was cloudy so not as intense heat as it normally is.
I had found a bike rental place on google maps, Zona Bici which is a block north of Cathedral Square. They had plenty of bikes available.
Rates started at 300P/hr ($7). It wasnt the regular multi gear that I use but some girly bike with wide handlebars. I wasnt used to this type of bike and it make creaking noises as you peddled or braked.
After doing a route thru the Zona Colonial (see blog entry - http://v2.travelark.org/travel-blog-entry/londone7/50/1582062846 ) I wanted to make my way to the waterfront trail since I hadnt visited there yet.
There is not really a safe crossing to get to the waterfront but I made my way. Here there was a bike path.
After a while were hotels and casinos. I had to turn around as I only rented the bike for an hour.
