Famagusta to Larnaca via Nicosia

Larnaca, Larnaca, Cyprus
Leaving Famagusta on the eastern coast I was now travelling to Larnaca on the south coast for my morning flight out of Cyprus. Due to the partition of the island there is no direct bus from the northern side to the southern. I would have to travel back to Nicosia, then physically go thru the border in the town centre, and walk to the other bus terminal on the Greek side.
The bus back to Nicosia is 11 Lira ($4.50) and the terminal is right at the city gate so very easy to get to. The terrain is very flat in the east and we stopped at university campuses to pickup or drop students.
There were some nice Mosques but not on option on this trips schedule to try to visit them.
On arrival at Nicosia I was lucky. Rather than goto the bus terminal north of the old town the bus continued driving right up to the Kyrenia Gate to the old town saving  me some walking.
I hastily made my way to the Ledras St crossing. Just before I exchanged my remaining 60 Lira back for 14 Euros. Customs then wanted to know if I was bringing any cigarettes from the north and checked my bag??!
I ran down Ledras St and made it in time for the 1pm bus which was ready to leave. Bus fare is 4 Euros ($6) and the journey was just over an hour.
Rather than a bus terminal in Larnaca they just let us off at the waterfront where the beach and all the hotels are. I navigated my way to my hotel nearby.
This was an apartment and probably one of the nicer places I had stayed during my trip. It would have been nice to stay for an extra night and I would consider it again on a return trip.
