World Heritage Site and Naval Dockyard Ferry

St.George's, St. George's Parish, Bermuda
Returning back from Ft Catherines to St George we passed by the Bermuda Heritage Museum but it was closed. Most places were for the public holiday today.
Trying to figure out what to do next the tourist info office told us the ferries were running today since the buses were on strike. The next ferry was 1.45pm giving us more than an hour. We found the little store that sold the tickets and we got two for $4.50 each to get us to the Naval Dockyard then back to Hamilton.
Tuckers House Museum was also closed another period home. Surprisingly the World Heritage site was open for $5.
I thought this would be a collection of buildings but just one. There wasnt much to see in terms of exhibits but they had a short movie which showed us the interior of the places we were not able to see.
It told the stories of some of the citizens such as a local barber who came to prominence as one of the first successful black men.
There wasnt much in terms of other exhibits.
With a bit more time to spare before the ferry we wanted to check out one more fort in the city. Its not clearly marked but we did find Ft George.
This is not touristic and is used as some tracking station so is closed to visitors. However it had an interesting cube design.
We now went and boarded our ferry excited to be on water at last after the transit problems of the bus strike and having to pay for cabs.
It left at a leisurely place and we had views of St George on departure. It then made the turn at the tip of the island where Ft Catherine was which we had visited earlier.
Then it hit the gas pedal in clear waters and you had to hold everything down to stop it blowing in the strong wind currents.
It was an exciting arrival arriving at the Naval Dockyard pulling in next to the cruise ships in the most touristic part of the island.
