The Multi Coloured Tiled City of Puebla

Puebla City, Puebla, Mexico
Today was my last full day and I had booked another day trip on Viator to Puebla and Cholula. Today was Monday and museums are closed so I had planned my museums yesterday on Sunday and today would be outdoor stuff.
Meeting back at the Bellas Artes we had a smaller group of 10 today in a minivan instead of the large bus groups I had previously. Also I was the only English speaking person on the group.
The drive to Puebla southeast of Mexico City was just over an hour on very bumpy roads. I wanted to sleep on the bus but as the only English speaker I was obligated to listen to all the English explanations from our guide Antonio when he translated all the Spanish versions just for me (although I could understand the jist in Spanish).
The Spanish King wanted his own city so Puebla was built from scratch in complete European style.
With regards to religion the locals would not go inside the churches as their ceremonies were traditionally held outdoors. To blend the religions they felt the death of Christ was like their human sacrifice practices, and worshipping God was substituted for their Sun God.
The French also ruled for 4 years so some of their architecture is left behind. An odd European combination you normally wouldnt associate with Mexico.
The town is famous for a historic library but as all museums are closed Monday's we were not allowed inside.
For lunch the buffet was mostly pork with few veggie options so I was back to spaghetti again for 230P with drink ($15). We then had freetime for 90 minutes.
All the museums were closed today but the tiled architecture was very unique reminding me of Portugal.
Due to this there are unique colourful ceramics only found in Puebla and filling the tourist markets. For the rest of the time I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
This is a really worthwhile day trip from Mexico city, preferably not on Mondays to visit some of the museums.
