Olso Metro Line 1 with Bikes up a Mountain

Oslo, Oslo, Norway
Today for our biking day my friend had suggested we take the metro further out. This is not something I would have known about so its good to get local knowledge.
Yesterday had been raining heavy but today was expected to be clear so we were making the most of it. We first went to the bike rental place 'Viking Biking' in central Oslo. We had come here yesterday to check out their opening times and pricing. The bike I chose was 300K ($43 CAD) for 24 hours.
Although there are bike rental stations throughout the city and are economically priced they only allow 60 mins max at a time. You would have to keep going back to a bike rental station and exchanging to avoid overdue penalties.
Entrance to the metro was 36K ($5) and you are allowed to bring your bikes on the train. As it was Sunday it was not too crowded and we were headed away from the city centre.
Line 1 is actually an outdoor line and takes a scenic route ascending a mountain. It became busier along the way with more people out enjoying the weekend.
It reminded me of the Flam train in Bergen thru the fjords (see entry - http://v2.travelark.org/travel-blog-entry/londone7/29/1413724345)

We were going to bike our way downhill for the rest of the way back thru the city centre (entry on BikeBlog - http://v2.travelark.org/travel-blog-entry/londone7/38/1578260561).
