Santo Domingo Metro and Cable Car (Teleferico)

Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Dominican Republic
With six days in Santo Domingo I had to find things to fill the time. I was interested in seeing their metro even though it is not useful for tourists. I also read on Wikitravel they have a cable car ropeway system.
Santo Domingo has the largest metro in the Caribbean with two lines and plans to expand to six. As well the cable car is the second ropeway in Latin America.
It was a 25 min walk in the heat to the nearest metro station at the Plaza des Culturas. Ticket price is 35P ($0.70US) which can only be bought from the window as there are no machines, so long lines.
When the train arrived it was completely packed to the doors. It was a new modern air conditioned carriage. It was two stops to the transfer station then six stops on the second line to Eduardo Brito.
I thought I would have to go out and pay again to get onto the cable car ropeway but they are connected with passageways so all one ticket.
The ropeway spans four stations and is a good way to cut across the city and two rivers. It allows you to see many neighbourhoods and is a quick way to build transit with minimal disruption.
Before the last stop you have to switch lines before reaching the final station one stop later. I wanted to stay on and loop round.
They make you get out and back on as the cars turn around but on the same ticket so I didnt have to pay again for the return trip.
I thought it would be breezy but it was still quite hot. I dont think many tourists know or get to experience this trip although it would be a great experience.
I then made my way back to the metro for the return trip you.
You can also see video of the whole trip - https://youtu.be/EM8TrZjg4uI
