This morning rather than take another National Rail train from Chester to Liverpool I was going to take the Merseyrail as we were now within range of the Liverpool local train network.
Though National Rail trains are faster, they had been proven to be erratic with schedules and connections. The local rail network though slower with local stops would be cheaper and allow me to experience another rail network.
A daysaver ticket from the machine was 5.95 pounds. The train began as an outdoor commuter train but became an underground metro line as we neared Liverpool city centre.
