Arriving at London City Airport I was now going to take the Docklands Light Railway to Stratford. This was much easier than going to Heathrow or Gatwick Airports and crossing all of London to come back.
The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) was built in the 90s to connect the new business district in Canary Wharf to Central London at Tower Hill. There was a branch line that went to Stratford.
Since the 2012 Olympics in Stratford the network has been expanded to more development in the East London Docklands, the City Airport, and the Eurostar Station at Stratford International
When I was biking I had noticed a new DLR station on Stratford High Street across from the Travelodge I would be staying. There was no station here growing up.
It would be much more convenient to goto Stratford High Street and walk across rather than goto the main Stratford station and walk back with bags.
