Finishing my Central London biking at Camden by the canals I now needed to get home to Stratford. I was going to take the tube but would have to change lines and was tired to be going up and down stairs after all day biking.
At Camden Town tube station I noticed a map that showed an overground line running direct from Camden Road to Stratford. This would be easier, no changing, all outdoors so more to see.
To get from Camden Town tube station to Camden Road overground station I had to walk a short distance but there were maps for the short route just up the main street.
Conveniently overground fares are a flat 1.80 and have no zones unlike the tube where they calculate cost based on distance/zones so it would have been double fare.
The overground network is not something we had growing up. While they did have British Rail trains running these tracks they were not integrated into the Transport for London fare system or infrastructure and functioned as two separate entities.
It was a nice outdoor ride allowing me to see more of London and rest for some more after biking
