Final morning in St Pierre

Saint-Pierre, Saint-Pierre, Saint Pierre and Miquelon
This morning I was up early as a heard a rooster calling. As I was a couple of blocks from the panorama point I was debating if I should head over. I decided to run so as not to think about it too long and miss the sunrise.
Sure enough the sun was rising up on a clear morning but this was happening in slow motion. Meanwhile I was being besieged by a swarm of morning flies and couldnt stay any longer.
In the hotel breakfast is an extra 12.50 Euros in high season so I decided to skip. In town there was a bakery by the waterfront bristling with activity from the locals. I got stuff here to eat which was remarkably cheap.
I wanted to rent a bike this morning but they didnt open till 10am. The first morning ferry to Ile aux Marins was about to depart at 8.30am so I jumped on board (see prior entry for 'the ghost island').
On return the bike rental place was due to open by 10am. I asked in the tourist office next door and they said they would call as it was now 10.15am. I went to a nearby tourist shop, which was the only one, and didnt have things I liked.
The tourist office was giving some reasons why the bike rental place next door hadnt opened due to some meeting of the locals for the festival.
I walked around to the Cathedral and lighthouse. By 11am the bike rental still hadnt opened. I had to leave by noon to get to the airport.
Frustrated I went  back to my hotel to pickup my bags and get my ride to the airport. It is unfortunate that one person in the bike store can almost ruin a perfect trip. There was no backup person to manage the store and you dont just close up in July peak tourist season.
