The highlight of this afternoon was we were going to take a ferry to cross the Volga River. Most take the bridge on the highway but we were going to take the older method used by the locals before the bridge was built.
The ferry runs every hour or so and we had timed it with lunch so we would be in time to catch the ferry. There was only one other car waiting as most probably take the highway now.
It reminded me of taking the Woolwich Ferry in London growing up. This is a more interesting and scenic way of crossing the river thru local villages tourists probably do not get to see.
The crossing takes 10 mins.
