On arrival in Kostroma I had found another Mosque on google maps. I was surprised we are still finding Mosques this far north. Tony advised it may be for migrant workers from Central Asia.
The Mosque was close to the city centre and on our route so easy to stop by. I had to ask Tony to come in with me as it was actually quite impressive on the inside so wanted him to have a look too instead of sitting in the car.
Aside from the coloured ceramic tiles were the coloured windows. It was quite cloudy but in the moments when the sun came out there were coloured steaks from the glass across the hall.
This was the fifth town with a Mosque (Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Ivanova, Kostroma).
