Ipatiev Monastery Kostroma

Kostroma, Kostroma Oblast, Russian Federation
The most famous feature of Kostroma aside from the town centre and the fire tower is the Ipatiev Monastery at the convergence of the Kostroma and Volga rivers. Entrance was 160 Rub ($3.20 Cad).
As it had just been raining there were artistic reflections in some of the puddles. The complex had several buildings and our ticket only allowed us into certain ones.
The first museum had simple exhibits with some religious icons as well some items related to the Tsars. I believe the Tsars were originally crowned here though I could be getting my stories mixed up.
Next we were going to enter into the main cathedral. Again some nice shots in the puddles.
The interior of the church was impressive as had been the other churches.
Some of the paint and artwork in the hallways reminded me of Asian temples.
There was a second museum we entered. The ground floor had typical exhibits for this type of museum.
The upper floor had galleries of religious icons. Although photos were not allowed the guide was telling me to raise my camera to get better pictures in the light.
She must have been really bored or super excited to see someone as far away from Canada but she opened a second room not open to the public and allowed me to film and take pics.
