Next stop on our final day of the Golden Ring route returning down from Yaroslavl to Moscow was at Rostov Veliky (The Great).
This was a very well developed historical town centre developed for tourism but we seemed to be the only ones in low season. Distance from Moscow is probably also a factor for day trippers.
The complex is a collection of buildings including the Bishops residence, Churches, and Museums. Tony suggested I get a grounds only ticket for 70 Rub ($1.40). However there was too much to see that a grounds only ticket would not have covered it so I went back for an entrance ticket to the Churches for 200 Rub ($4).
The first church I went in was quite stunning and missing any tourists for a change. I was able to take photos while other Churches do not.
In the distance I could hear musical bells. As I came out there was an amazing church bell musical ringing at 10am. You can hear it on my video below.
The second church was equally as impressive with its interior art, absence of tourists, and ability to take photos. Perhaps its also worth getting a full entry ticket for 800 Rub ($16) to all the buildings which I didnt have time for.

Hi Asif, there are a lot of discuions in Russian segment of Internet, saying that old churches and monastries they have very special style ans architecture. They are not like modern Orthdox Churches. It days that all this culture and religion are coming from Goldern Horde of Tatar invasion. It means they came from Tengrian - Turkic nomadic Faith.
