Shrewsbury Churches and Market Hall

Shrewsbury, England, United Kingdom
This morning we were leaving Stratford Upon Avon and moving to my next destination in Shrewsbury. It was a shame as the room was very nice and I was still jet lagged and needed to rest more.
We left the hotel at 8am to catch the 8.51 train. However the departure board said the same train was at 8.30. A lot of the train schedules online had proven to be unreliable. If the same train was leaving earlier why not take that rather than wait another half hour.
We passed thru many fields with sheep and headed to Birmingham. Rather than change the the main station in Birmingham we were told to goto Smethwick Galton Bridge. Leaving earlier made no difference as we still had to wait from 9.30 to 10.02 to catch our original connection train.
I had my pie from the day before to have as breakfast on the train. We arrived at Shrewsbury by 11am. The Station is an impressive Victorian stone building. Perched atop a hill overlooking is Shrewsbury Castle which we were skipping due to time.
I stressed to my friend we had to move quickly to get the 1.30pm train to Chester and not get bogged down again and arrive late as we had yesterday in Stratford Upon Avon when everything had closed after 4pm.
The first church we passed St Mary the Virgin, which was not part of our itinerary he went in and didnt come out. I didnt want to waste all my time trying to find each other so I decided to carry on. We both knew where the station was for 1.30pm.
Just across the river is Shrewsbury Abbey. I was getting a bit churched-out and was short on time so left as there were more churches to see.
Back in the centre was Shrewsbury Cathedral. Unfortunately it was closed for repairs. A few blocks further was St Chad's Church. This was interesting in its circular design
In the town centre was the Market Hall. This was a covered area for an outside market. Beside was the City Museum which had free entry.
The town centre is small so I kept running into my friend but let him do his own thing as I wanted to see my own things.
All stations had nowhere to leave bags so it was getting tiring walking each day with my bag.
Back by the station was the Castle but it was closed. Also was the prison but I think you have to book tours.
