Straits of Magellan, Chile
We have entered the Straits of Magellan. This seaway, discovered by Magellan,  allowed sailors to avoid dangerous Cape Horn as European ships made their way form the Atlantic to the Spice Islands in the Pacific. Their is no sign of habitation here - even bird life is scarce. The day is cold which impresses on us how the weather is changing. We are truly following in the steps of the explorers.
