Venice on the Waterbus

Venice, Italy
Our tour and transfer from the Venice Cruise Terminal, through the city and to the airport was cancelled due to lack of participation so we needed to find a plan B. We take a free bus provided by the cruise line to Plaza Le Roma then purchase tickets on the Waterbus which takes us to San Marcos Square which is a very busy and famous location for its history and St Mark's Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and many statues and points of interest.   We travel onwards via Alilaguna Water Bus which winds its way through Venice to the Airport. A speeding water Ambulance passes us as it makes its way to the hospital. Speed limit signs are posted however, there are no stops signs. There are ferries, pleasure craft, water buses. Gondola, cruise ships but the fastest are the water taxis that seem to know the canals so well. We are dropped at the airport and with a seven minute walk, we are at the airport check in.
