Lahaina, Hawaii, United States
We are grateful that big cities have not taken over Lahaina and much in the village is similar to how it used to be. Originally Lahaina was the capital of the Hawaiian Islands and was a whalers port (051) and resupply location. To get into the port, the tenders (026) (098) are used. These small boats carry 120 people and also serve as lifeboats. The old sailor in port (049) was something that was inspired by Lorna. The islands are grouped close here (059) with Lanai, the pineapple island, and Molokai next door. The Front Street walk is scenic with many shops plus waving palms (074) and small beaches.
