Kahului, Hawaii, United States
A windy day in Kahului as we venture to Kihei, a mid island town on the fork in the road that will take you to the left to Hana (039) or to the right back to Lahaina. The port is the major industry for Kahului with shipments of sugar cane and by-products plus the regional pineapple production being sent all over the world. It is also where everything gets imported. Kahului is the location of the international airport known as OGG. We pass cane fields (048), a cane processing factory (065) and a refinery (047). The weather turned a little worse as the ship departed the harbor with our Tug Boat Captain again provided guidance. (073).
