Cape Town, South Africa
A big change from cold windy Namibia to the big city of
Cape Town - 34C/98F . We are off on a wine tour in the region where the best
South Africa wineries are found. Neethlingshof Wines (087 & 092 )goes back
over 250 years. They age their whites un-casked without oak, in Stainless Steel
which makes a fresher bouquet and brighter flavours. The gardens (109) and the
scenery are both spectacular. On to Stellenbosch Museums with 4 restored
European homes dating to the early 1700's. The Dutch Reform Church (163 &
167) is next door and is a most detailed and well kept church.

A little shopping at Victoria and Alfred Wharf (034) to
resupply a few basics - one can find a sign post - Vancouver is only 16912 KM
away. The shopping covers everything you
could wish for and the RAND (local $$) exchanges well. The red clock tower at
the port is next to the draw bridge that allows yachts in to the harbour.
