Arachova, Greece
Oracle of Delphi. Our tour bus leave Athens and makes its way north along an expresway, past a casion and a toll both where vendors were selling fresh bagels. Delph is high in the hills about 2 hours drive north and is full of ancient history. The ruins are layed out much as it was over 2000 years ago. Out guide fills in the story of the Oracle and invites the energetic ones to view the stadim located farther up the mountain. We along with a few of the youth in the group make it to the location and we then head into the village of Arachova for lunch. For some unique reasons we had no cash and there were no cash dispensers nor credit cards taken at this location. We felt a light diet might be the best we could do today but a nice couple isisted on paying for our meal. Hand woven rugs are the specialty here. We headed south to catch the Ferry to Crete.
