Traveling to Davenport

Davenport, Iowa, United States
Today, we traveled through 4 states: Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa.  We crossed the Mississippi River.  Arriving in Davenport, we found 41 state license plates to date.
At one of the rest areas, there was a sign, Christopher Columbus Memorial Highway. In this day and age, you wonder when this highway will get renamed.
Checked into the hotel.  Went to dinner at Front Street Brewery.  Shared guacamole and chips and fish and chips.  Tried two of their beers, Davenport Gold and Cherry Bomb Blonde.  Tasty beers and the Cherry Bomb did have a distinct cherry flavor.
After dinner, we took a walk in the Vander Veer Botanical Park.  They created a gravel garden from a former pollinator garden.  A gravel garden is one where they dig 5” of dirt and replace it with gravel.  Low maintenance garden.  However, this one looked like a garden of weeds.  Sorry, no photo.  Very nice park and well used.
Tomorrow we head to Omaha,  Good night!
