Naviti Island, Yasawa Islands, Fiji
Day 5

This morning we had our last breakfast on Waya Lailu island and said goodbye to everybody. It's been lovely meeting some really nice people here. I wish we could have stayed longer. We've certainly had a different experience than that on Beachcomber. After that, we got a small boat over to the Yasawa flyer catamaran to take us to our next resort, White Sandy Beach. The sea is quite rough today, even tho it's a lovely sunny day.

Naviti Island- White Sandy Beach

When we arrived, there were also a group of English girls, which was nice as we haven't met and English people recently. We got taken to the island and welcomed by a group of people singing, including a sweet little girl. A Fijian lady introduced us to people, and a drum roll signifies lunch. We went for lunch straight away, and met some more English people, so there are lots staying here. There were some really tiny, cute kittens running about. One was crying all the time, so I gave it some meat and water. We chatted to people for a while then went to explore some of the island.

We walked to honeymoon beach, it seems each of these Islands has a honeymoon beach! This one is the other side of the island, you have to climb to the top of the hill to get to that beach. It's on private land, so you have to pay $2 Fiji dollars to go to this beach, which is only about £0.60. It was quite a nice beach, but nothing special. We went for a swim and sunbathed for a bit. The sun went in again, so we went back for afternoon tea. There were more English people here, but I think they are all 18 year olds on their gap year. I don't have as good a vibe about this island as the rest of them, but i'm sure we'll enjoy our time here. There aren't as many activities, so we'll just have to chill out a bit more here, which we haven't done much of yet.

After tea, we relaxed in the hammocks for the afternoon. The sun went in again so it was good to just chill out. The sun sets over the sea here, so we'll relax and watch the sun go down over us later. However, it was not to be our night as the sun went in the clouds, and we couldn't watch it set. So after that disappointment, we had dinner, everybody sat together so that was nice. The kittens and cat are always around at dinner time. One tiny kitten in particular never stops crying, it's so sweet. I always try to give it some food. I think it just wants some love and affection.

After dinner, we had entertainment provided by the Fijian people, they sang some songs and did the Bula dance. We learned the moves to this the other night, but luckily we didn't get called up to do the dance too. Afterwards, they invited us to play some games. Everyone was on the dance-floor playing musical statues, and some other crazy games too. We all went outside after the games and they did another bonfire. This time the Fijian guys were playing the guitar and singing to us. It was a good end to the evening, even if we didn't get to watch the sun set.

Day 6

Today was also another lazy day. We still had to get up early for breakfast. We were suppose to be doing our activity, snorkelling, but they didn't have enough people. So we just hired the snorkelling equipment and went snorkelling on honeymoon beach for a few hours. We saw loads more coral garden reefs, which were cool. Then we went back for lunch. The kitten was there winging again. I noticed its tail was all matted up, so after lunch, I brushed it and cut out the knots, which it let me do. It wasn't crying then either.

After lunch, we did some more snorkelling from the other side of the beach and relaxed on the beach until we got too hot. I saw the kitten coming towards our bure, so I picked it up and took it in our room to give it some water. It drank it from a shell. I was going to take it back, but John said keep it in the room. So I did, and it laid on me and went to sleep, it's so cute. It wasn't crying at all while it was in here. I think the locals see cats as pests and don't feed them, which is a shame. We let it sleep in our room for a few hours until twe went to watch the sun set before dinner. It's been nice just having a really lazy day today.

We went watch the sun go down after, but it hid behind the clouds, so we didn't really see the sun set. The colours in the sky were nice tho. We're not having much luck watching the sunsets in Fiji. Then we had dinner and afterwards, there were more fun and games. For the past 2 nights, there have been more English people staying here than we've met on the whole of our travels so far. We all enjoyed singing and dancing from the Fijians, then we had to join in doing the Bula dance. It was fun and brought everyone together. They lit another bonfire afterwards, and everyone stayed chatting for a few hours until bed.
