Day 2- Moyo island

We awoke from our cabin so hot we just wanted to get out of there. We're above the engine, so it kicks out some heat. We got up and went out for breakfast. All we got was dry bread and like a sweet condensed milk and jam. We had to eat it or we'd go hungry. It's not as good as all those pancakes i've been having in Bali and the Gilis. We had docked up near Moyo island about an hour ago, so some people swam to shore already. People said there were loads of jellyfish in the water, so I decided not to snorkel but just swim to shore. John took the snorkel with him. I could feel the jellyfish stinging so i'm glad I didn't have a mask on to see them all. I swam to shore as quick as I could. Our guides took everyone's cameras with them in a box, which was handy or else we wouldn't be able to take and pictures ashore.

Once we got to shore, we walked towards Moyo waterfall. We crossed a few rivers to reach the waterfall, but when we got there it was pretty impressive for something on a remote little island. Lots of people started climbing up the waterfall, which I thought was crazy as it looked dangerous. John started climbing up the rocks in the waterfall, I just stayed behind and went for a dip in the bottom of the waterfall. The other boat load of people had already climbed the waterfall. I wondered what the appeal was, but when they all came down, I found out that there was a pool at the top of the fall that everyone was diving into. They all had to navigate their way down the waterfall, I was worried about John coming down, but he was fine. We then had to swim back to the boat again and we set sail for another 2 hours.

Satonda island- salt water lake

After sailing for another 2 hours, we reached Satonda Island. We could snorkel to shore taking comfort from the fact that there were no jellyfish around us. There was some coral and tropical fish around us, but firstly we have to get to shore so we can see the salt water lake, then we can do snorkelling afterwards. This island is like a lush tropical rainforest, I really like this island. There were some local villagers and a small cafe, but not much else other than those. We walked to the salt water lake. It was a huge lake surrounded by lush green trees all around it. Some people went for a dip first and said the water was really warm, so everyone else, including myself went for a dip. Some tried to snorkel, but they couldn't see anything here as the water was too murky. I just relaxed and enjoyed the warm waters. We stayed there for a while, then went back to the beach to do some more snorkelling. There were quite a lot of fish around, so it was a good spot to snorkel. We enjoyed that for another hour or so before it was time to go back to the boat.

When we got back to the boat, we got told we'd be sailing for the rest of the day until tomorrow. It was so hot on the boat, so it's going to be a long day. I wrote some blog, while the others played cards for the afternoon. Later we had dinner and then one girl showed us some magic tricks, which were pretty cool. I joined in for some card games and ended up loosing, so I had to do a dance in front of everyone for a minute. It was so embarrassing.

Dolphins

After that we had all played enough cards for the night and were bored so stopped playing. We were all just chatting on the boat when someone called out 'dolphins'. We all ran out to the deck to see, and there they were about 4 dolphins jumping out of the water. It was amazing to see them, I was hoping this moment would come at some point on our trip. They were too quick to get any pictures of them though. After it got dark, I saw some more dolphins fins out of the water, but it was just too dark to see them properly. I'm happy we saw them today anyhow.
