tj here: Almonds - I purchased 2 bags of Marcona almonds at Rutherford Ranch that were wonderful! They were from Smoke Open Fire Cooking (smokeopenfire.com). One was with truffle salt and the other was with rosemary, herbes de provence, sea salt & EVOO. The herby one would especially be good served at a dinner party or small cocktail party. They were a bit pricey at $17.99 per bag (no weight listed, but would guess 2 cups). Or then...I could make them myself!

UPDATE: I just used the online price for the almonds as I was grabbing the pic off of the website . Found my receipt - in person, they charge $11.95/bag and if you join their wine club, you get a 10% discount, so I actually wound up paying $10.76/bag - not too bad!

Marcona almonds are expensive in general (though can ease the pain a little at Costco / Amazon) so probably not that bad of a value.

Do you have any favorite wines from the trip that y'all can recommend? (Or did I miss that)

True. I usually buy them at Spec's or Central Market - will check out Costco/Amazon now. Really enjoyed the way these were seasoned. See update on pricing.

No, you haven't missed any wine referrals. Mary had mentioned doing that and I think it would be a good idea. Personally, I have not drunk any of the wines I purchased in Napa Valley (saving for a special meal). From our winery tour, I will say that I liked just about every wine we tried at Rutherford Ranch. I bought 2 bottles of Cab there and joined their wine club (12 bottles every quarter) - probably a mistake, but I couldn't resist. Maybe I should report back on that.

Appreciate your input and comments!
