Ciao Bergamo!

Malpensa Airport, Lombardy, Italy
We took Mom up to the Old City for dinner on our last night and had a wonderful time. It looks entirely different all lit up at night.
On Wednesday, we ate our yummy Best Western Breakfast then walked about 10 minutes to a really nice cheese shop. Bergamo is famous for its cheeses - some only made here. Mom was practicing with the walker a lot in the hotel and we wanted to see how she did outside with it. We brought the wheelchair just in case she got tired on the way back.
After cleaning out the cheese store we stopped at the Cathedral across the street. There is a lot to be thankful for so we spent some time in there lighting candles.
Finally it was time to load up the car. We had warned Sara that we now had 6 suitcases, a wheelchair and a walker. It took a bit of puzzling but Luca was able to fit it all in the trunk and off we went to the Malpensa Airport Sheraton about an hour away.
Imagine our surprise when we checked in and were told that we had been upgraded to the Presidential Suite ("but sorry no President.") We assured them that No President was just fine with us. It was the biggest room any of us had ever stayed in. Incredible!!! We all decided that maybe we deserved it just a tiny bit and we enjoyed every minute and every room to the max. We are so close to finishing this journey. One more night in Italy and then we board a flight for Heathrow then another to San Francisco. We arranged for my cousin Pauline to pick us up in San Francisco and bring us to her house in Los Gatos so my Mom can regroup and rest up there before the final flight home on 10/21, Sunday. We all tried to get a really good night's sleep!
