Mount Surprise, Queensland, Australia
Early rise to prepare for our Undara Lava Cave tour. Decided to have brekkie at Bedrock Café, Terry and Carolyn (husband and wife) had cooked up some lovely fresh bread rolls and coffee scrolls YUM. William and Jayde having egg and bacon roll – two eggs with some bacon on freshly baked roll, and some fresh coffee. We ordered two freshly backed parsties for our return at 1pm (didn't want to miss out).

Off we went with Lindsay our Savannah Tour Guide and another couple (Sue and Bill – from Tassie), firstly toured the rim of the volcano with some very informative details on flora, fauna and animals in the area, approximately 1 .5hours, lovely walk. Lindsay asked Jayde if she had ever seen a Dead Dog Tree (one that had lost its bark - boom boom!). We had some morning tea with some freshly baked biscuits from Terry (choc chip, Anzac and plain)

Then headed to the Lava Tubes – all was very fascinating, some areas unable to step into beyond rocks as sacred ground with the Aboriginals. Descended into tubes very steep climbing into some of them, taking our time, then having to use our allocated flash lights travelled through the tubes where we saw some lovely formations and bats (even having a little fun on Williams expense that is tickling him on the head and him taking a head dive thinking one was flying over him) so funny.

Came back where time for Jayde to get stitches out - yea firstly agreeing for Mum to take stitches out, but when came to the crunch a no goer - so we then made a deal that if Carolyn could get stitches out by the time I went back to get purse and return I would supplement their Bedrock Village staff fund. Yea success! Carolyn then took Jayde down to the chook pen to fetch eggs.

We went for a bike ride up to the main street (only 5 mins ride) and stopped off for some Thirst Aid at the local. Sat around campfire with Greg and Jan again listening to Greg playing his guitar and stories of their venture. Very cold evening, apparently got down to 1 degrees overnight.
