Day 20 - Adels Grove, Lawn Hill, Queensland

Lawn Hill, Queensland, Australia
Packed our lunch and headed down for a early start for our trip up the gorge at Lawn Hill National Park where we hired a three man canoe for approximately 2 hours. Was so beautiful and serene paddling (well when William seen a Croc) we had to paddle close and look at it the on the bank. When we reached the waterfall we had pick up the canoe and carry it to the next stage of the gorge (approx 30m), we paddled for about 100m before we reached a Cascade we had to paddle up, it was challenging after 3 attempts we made it. At the end of the gorge we stopped and had a swim where Jayde spotted and played with tadpoles and then found the little frogs. On our way back we saw a couple of croc swimming at the side.We ended up taking 3hrs, but was well worth it.

Had lunch back where Maryann and Wayne had setup their camp at Lawn Hill National Park, finalising arrangements to head off the next morning .

We walked to the Aboriginal arts area (Wild Dogs Dreamiong walk) to the red gliff known as Island Stack quite a steep walk up but absolutely glorious view from up there, then we walked around to the Cassards but there was no water running, when finished William and Jayde went for another swim back at Grove. We packed, had some tea and played cards. Bill had a discussion with a lady from Sydney who was travelling with her husband and three children suggested to go to Lorella Springs, they had run out of time, friends had told them it was a nice place.

Have just read your blog and viewed your wonderful photos. Lots of fun and of course a few mishaps, but you all still seem to be enjoying great people and places. Quite an adventure so far and I'm glad you are keeping up the liquid refreshments and Jayde is enjoying her mocktails. Have fun and enjoy the nice weather rather than the rain here. Looking forward to more photos and stories. Jules.
