Day 25 - Mataranka, Northern Territory

Mataranka, Northern Territory, Australia
Decided to drive to Roper Bar today, with William filling our tank with one of our two 20Litre jerry cans before heading.

On our way decided to have a look at the "Southern Lost City" (would have been nice to have time to do the 1 .5Km return walk) only 4km into the city and a place you could free stay. Another detour was into Butterfly Springs, were there was a lovely cascading waterfall and I don't think words could describe the most beautiful flutter of butterflies of hundreds and hundreds of them both fluttering and on rock wall. A nice place to camp.

Stopped at Nathan River airstrip for Maryann to post her postcards (well thought it was a good idea seeing she had them since Adels Grove.

We crossed over Limmen Bight river, stopping at Towns River for lunch.

Had a look at St Vidgeon Ruins and drove down the track and fell upon Lomarieum Lagoon – most exquisite lagoon filled with lillies – how tranquil.

Once again we arrived late at Mataranka Homestead (approx 6pm) than we wanted after deciding not to stop at Roper Bar. Setup up camp and headed down to the Bistro to have tea and listened to a guy playing guitar.
