Early start leaving Anchorage for Seward. Our first stop was at the Alaska Conservation Centre (Dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, education, research, and quality animal care. AWCC takes in orphaned and injured animals and provides them with care and spacious enclosures.), we were allowed in 1hr before public opening, we were dropped off at the Bear enclosure, we had trouble seeing any but finally seen a Brown Bear (we were told there is four Bears in enclosure), we walked around seeing various animals (Bison's, Deer, Muskox, Fox's), but the best was seeing a baby Lynx only 6-8 wks old it had arrived at the Centre 2 days ago very skittish had lost its mum (shot).
We continued onto Seward, on arrival we joined Major Marine Tours for a 6hr cruise to Kenai Fjords National Park and Glacier, absolutely crystal clear day except for the wind, the scenery was spectacular (as you can see by photos), first seeing Otters who really don't do much just float and look cute, then some Dall Porpoise too quick to snape photo, next Steller Sea Lions, we were told to look out for Humpback Whale sighted very close to where we were, got as close as allowed but no breaching, on way to glacier seen two baby Black Bears on the shore, it started to get windy and colder as we got closure to the glacier, this was our first time seeing a glacier up close to OMG how cold it got, the crew collected some glacier ice for drinks so Deb had to have a Margarita (yummy) Glacier ice does not melt.
Back on shore, issued with our keys to room, cleaned up before heading to Maldonado's (Maggie-Jose) for cocktails, Malibu & Spice Rum with Guava & Pineapple juice before six of us headed down to Rays Steak and Seafood trying Crab Legs Yummy and going for Halibut over Salmon again. Way back to room stood and watch many fisherman coming in with their catch, cleaning and filleting before they have their catch shipped back to where they live - Wow very fast and clever cleaning and filleting skills.
