Misty Fjords National Monument Wilderness, Alaska, United States
Waking up this morning in Misty Fjords (which is about 64 km east of Ketchikan).
Can understand why called Misty Fjords - mist hanging low as we cruised through the water. So surreal and calming, while we sat at the bow of the ship chillaxing viewing the upcoming scenery, writing up journal and reading as we cruised our way through Behm Canal, the long canal provides passage to Walker Cove, Rudyerd Bay and Punchbowl Cove. cruising past  spectacular mountains which are covered with thick rainforests that crow on near vertical slopes which about 1000m high, and numerous waterfalls which were enhanced due to last night and todays rain.
Stopping in Punchbowl Cove overlooking waterfall to have lunch.  William decided to go on a 3 hour guided kayak tour, with it still raining I opted out had enough getting wet from yesterday. Bob decided to go with William. William was amazed by the height of the rock faces and getting up close to waterfalls, seeing bald eagles up close, seals popping up and  salmon jumping. Got saturated but was completely worth it.
After tea was trivia where much fun was had when William and I teamed up with Bob and Beth, Steph and Brad, Cheryl and Jim - great group of friends. We missed by 2 points for the win (a magnet)
