Anchored at Sucia Island San Juan for a day of guided kayaking and hiking, we crossed the Canada / USA boarder overnight. Sucia Island is located 2.5 miles north off Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands, San Juan County, Washington, United States. It is the largest of an archipelago of ten islands
We anchored near North Finger Island and had a relaxing kayak around South Finger Island into Fossil Bay seeing a variety vegetation and sea life including the purple ochre sea star, and then again a seal pops up and diving under our kayaks, paddling back we had a great view of snow capped Mt Baker in the distance.
After lunch instead of going hiking William decided to paddle board (which was entertaining), whilst Deb stayed on board and relax and basked in the sun taking snaps. Around 4:30pm we were ferried over to the beach by skiffs for a afternoon cocktail party, meeting the group that went hiking. Awesome afternoon drinking Pims Cocktail, Punch and various Wines and array of foods. Watching the sunset and taking photos.
Back on board, after tea we decided to meet on top deck for a night of star gazing, it was a perfect clear night sky no winds no lights and great to get a different aspect from our star configuration.
