Uncruise - Port Angeles

Thursday, August 29, 2019
Port Angeles, Washington, United States
Cannot believe this is our last day on our 14 day cruise on S.S. Legacy. Departing at 9am travelling for about 3/4hour  by bus with our lunch pack to Olympic National Park - Lake Crescent Lodge. Guides provided some maps for us to venture on tracks around the National Park. Walked to Marymere Falls (The Falls is a gorgeous landmark located just off the beaten path near Lake Crescent, just a short 2.4 km hike to the viewing bridge, the water from the falls drops about 30m to a small plunge pool near the trail) then trekked along Barnes Creek Trial for about 15 minutes before heading back to "The Lodge" for a cold beer and lunch overlooking Lake Crescent. Again most beautiful calming relaxing scenery. Back on bus where some of us hopped off back at the harbour and others continued to Hurricane Ridge.
Hurricane Ridge which is located 29 km south of Port Angeles and 1.6 km from sea level, and offers spectacular views of mountains, deer, black bears and other wildlife. Hurricane Ridge was named for the strong winds that are common at this high elevation..
Evening was Captain's Dinner where Captain Jarrod thanked each of the crew individually and passengers on an enjoyable 14 day cruise. After dinner Uncruise had prepared a slide show on the two weeks together in which we will receive a copy.
