London, England

6:30-8:30 a .m.

Got up again at 6:30 am, put my luggage outside my door (a porter would come by and pick it up to take it to the bus), and headed down to breakfast. The restaurant was packed with tour groups coming back on their last day and tour groups starting their first day. About 8:20 a.m. while waiting in the tour lobby, our tour director, Dylan Jones, checked us in and had us get on the bus. There will be 32 of us touring for the next 3 weeks. I am the only American and the youngest of the group. I ended up sitting next to my room partner, Cherry. She is from Australia; there are 28 Australians on this tour! The others are a sister pair from Vancouver, Canada and a man from New Zealand. Since we were all punctual, we left a few minutes early.

8:30-10:30 a.m.

As we headed towards Oxford, we passed nice scenic landscapes of rolling hills, sheep, forests, sheep, farmlands, and sheep. By the way did I mention sheep?! About 7K from Oxford, we made a pit stop at a very nice rest stop. It had restaurants, shops, and even a small grocery store. Apparently being able to buy fresh foods is really important here. Then we passed through a quaint village called Summertown.
