Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

Then we crossed the Erksine Bridge which was very tall into the outskirts of Glasgow . We are staying at the Marriott Hotel. So after getting my key from a very posh front desk and lobby, I took a very posh lift to the 3rd floor and entered a very posh room. I have a king size bed just to myself!!!! After the last couple of places of small uncomfortable twin size beds and then walls, this is heaven! My view wasn’t bad, but there was a walkway that went out over the parking lot but was only partly finished. It had plants growing off of it so I know its been there for a while. I asked the lady in the gift shop about it. She said that no one really knows what happened. They were working on it one day years ago, and then they never came back the next day. Some say it was a disagreement between designer and builder, but no one ever came back to compete it. On my way down to locate an ATM machine and a place to eat, I met up with some others. They were all talking about the beds and nice they are. Some people opted to just eat in the hotel’s restaurant. I walked about 5 blocks down the street explore some of the city . I couldn’t stand sitting inside after being buffeted all day by wind and rain and cold and find Glasgow a little windy but warmer and with no rain!!! So, after collecting some money in Scottish pounds (used just like English pounds, but its from the Bank of Scotland instead), I headed further up the street to look for a place to eat. Unfortunately, either the places were too posh or to smokey. So I settled on a Pizza Hut (which our tour guide said was an Italian chain….lol). The menu is somewhat similar to America’s, but they have a different flavoring. For example the most popular pizza is the Margherita pizza. When I asked for green peppers on the pizza along with the pepperoni, the peppers are actually a red and green mixture. I ordered a order of cheese squares, small pepperoni pizza, and a salad. The salad was good since I got to use the salad bar myself. I used just their greens (lettuce and some other funky looking lettuce type food) and a vinaigrette drizzle (dressing). Finding ranch dressing is very difficult, but I do like the vinigretts I have been trying. The cheese came out on a very interesting plate that used lettuce pieces and halved cherry tomatoes covered in a striped pattern of a dark brown sauce. It wasn’t good so I only are one of the three. The pizza was okay. The Margherita styled pizza is supposed to be a thin crust, but my pizza came out kind of thick. But pizza is pizza and I was hungry, so I ate it. I got back to my room, took a shower, and finally got online to update my travel blog with pictures! Got to bed after midnight only because the wifi was really going slow.
