Rafting!

Idaho Springs, Colorado, United States
Slept in this morning until 7:30. Ate some of the breakfast foods in the hotel. The sausages were good. They had cooked eggs that looked like mini-pancakes. They tasted oaky. After eating I headed to a plus size consignment clothing store. I got there about 40 minutes before opening, so I drove across the street to the Shell station to fill up on gas and to go through its car wash. Everything was fine until it was time for me to leave the car wash building. My car couldn't get over a slippery metal bar that was on the ground as you exited the carwash. So, I backed up a little and heard a loud crack. My OnStar antennae snapped off and fell to the ground after hitting a low hanging blower. I pulled forward cursing my luck. However, when I looked at the attennae, I saw that it wasn't broke. It had a bolt, so I was able to screw it back on to the base. I didn't know that it could do that. Next time, I'll remember to remove it. I visited the consignment shop, but didn't see much of what I like. The owner gave me a card to another plus size shop. I headed to Idaho Springs, which is about 30 minutes west of Denver and partially in the Rocky Mountains. I had been through there about 4 times. I looked around some of the town's shops, and then headed over to Raft Masters Rafting Company for the noon trip. A married couple from Minnesota chatted with me in the parking lot about their HHR. They were going on the intermediate level while I was going on the beginner's level. Although I have previously done intermediate levels, I am out of shape to handle the Class 3 and 4 rapids. Also, the last time I was on the river, I severely sprained my ankle and had developed a fear of the water. So, I felt it was time to overcome my fear. I had a wonderful 24 year old guide named Shaun. 4 women also were on the same raft. 2 of them were on their honeymoon (to each other) and the other 2 were girlfriends. While I do not condone their lifestyle, I was comfortable with them until they starting telling Lesbian and Gay jokes after the guide told a rafting joke. At least they stopped after 4 jokes. We rafted for about an hour and a half. The water level was very low, and my sore foot can attest to that. A photographer took pictures of us from the banks along the route. After getting back to the company at 2:30, I bought the CD of about 30 pictures for $25. I left and headed back to the downtown shops and ate at a pizza place called Picci's. Besides a nice looking man sitting at a table across from me, no one else was in there. I ordered my food, and the man and I struck up a conversation. We ended up chatting about the area, CA (he lived in Huntington Beach), his new hobby of gold mining, our hobbies, dating, his marriage problems (his wife being clingy and not having any hobbies; I gave him some ideas on how to solve the problems), family, and traveling. We chatted for almost 2 hours. He was very friendly; too bad he was married. After he left to go panning, I finished eating my food.
