Los Laureles Forest and music at El Tucan

Last day in Uvita and decided to check out the private forest of Los Laureles

. The owner told us we were welcome to go into the forest but we first talked to her about her place. Her rooms are a little more upscale than El Tucan but did not have the same wonderful vibe. Her brother also runs a tour business for bikes and kayaks. Did sound interesting if we come back this way and want to do this kind of activity.

Walked through the private forest and it was a nice walk but the birds were not moving about much at all. Still enjoyed it and may try it again if we return. Had a smoothie at her place and she showed us pictures of the various items on their food menu. Has some very nice options. Believe she has just taken over running the place.

Back to El Tucan where we fixed a delicious avocado, cheese, lettuce and tomato sandwich on a fresh whole grain baguette. The fresh bread from the bakeries is generally outstanding! Back to the cool of the room to pack up as we are heading to Puerto Jimenez tomorrow.

Tonight at El Tucan there was going to be live music. Betta and Tra were being joined by Andy Egert from Switzerland and Helm from England. The band was billed as Andy Egert band because he evidently does have a band back home.

Split a fish in coconut/ginger sauce with salads for dinner while waiting for the band. Laura drank wine from El Tucan and Robert finished off his beers from the refrigerator. The band was great and it was interesting because we had never seen Tra perform before. It was a great evening and great time in Uvita. Five nights with live music for three of the evenings!
