Decided to walk up into the town the direction Vasja had shown us yesterday and hoped to find the cemetery he had told us about. Was a very interesting walk with some archeological sites in a couple of the yards we past by. There was not much to see but they did have a plaque explaining what the significance of the site was.
The walk continued steadily uphill and we managed to find the cemetery and there was an incrediible view down onto the Soci river and the valley below and the village of Moorej. Walked down to a coffee shop on the edge of the lake and had a coffee. You could see kayaks stacked around but no one was able to give us any information about renting a kayak. There was a kayak club but no one around and we could also see groups of kayakers out in the water practicing. At this point there is a footpath that goes around the lake and we took this path back to Most Na Soci. There was another place with kayaks but they also said they no longer rent kayaks. Past a fly fishing shop and went inside to see what they could tell us. According to the lady running the place, there have been several accidents involving people that had rented kayaks that actually ended in death and so there were new restrictions on kayak rental on the Soci river. We decided to see what Vasja could help us with.
Then, we discovered we had made a rookie move!!! The Mercator(grocery store) had closed at noon on Saturday and would be closed all day on Sunday so we had what we had already bought to feast on. Not really a disaster because as usual we did have food but had run out of wine!
Vasja came by to tell us Dusan, his father had arranged a kayak for us after noon tomorrow. Were going to call it an early evening but for some reason the church bells from all the churches started ringing at 9:15pm and went on for about 30 minutes.
