Kayak Indrija river and boat tour on river Soci

Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia
After a lazy morning went over to the bar and Vasja fixed us a cappachino using a special machine that can make milk foam and taste like cream!  Was a very nice cappachino to start the day.  It was going to be a busy day for Dusan and Vasja because there was a group of 400 Hungarians coming to Most Na Soci to celebrate the 100th anniversary of some “very” important battle that happened somewhere near here in World War I.
We were going to rent kayaks from one of the places we had talked to yesterday that told us they no longer rented kayaks but Dusan had talked to them and we were going to be able to kayak them.  The place was called Grille Tana and we decided to have lunch before we left on our kayak trip.  Robert had the trout and Laura chicken.  Evidently the trout is a specialty of Slovenia and Robert declared it delicious.  The only downside was there was no salad.  The place is right on the Soci river/lake and so the view is beautiful with mountain ringing the lake.
David, one of their workers helped us get into the kayak.  The leg room for the front passenger was kind of tight but we were able to set off with no problem.  David suggested we go left and kayak the Indrija river.  It was a gorgeous with towering cliffs, ferns, and a magical feel to the trip.  The water was not the same blue as the Soci river but wa so very peaceful.  We were being charged 5 euro an hour and we wer able to enjoy 2 and1/2 hours out on the river.
Head back to the room and found out the bar was closed and evidently celebration with the Hungarians was happening at Dusan’s bar at the train station.  We decided to go on the paddle wheel Lucila up the Soci river.  Was a fun trip and the captain was quite the entertainer.  Could speak three languages and first let all the children sit in the captains chair and pull the boat horn and then had some of us ladies do the same.  His favorite joke,  he is like the US president, has a White House and his wife is Slovenian.  HaHa.
They did not serve meals on the evening boat ride but we had fries and wine and after the ride walked back to Tana’s and had trout again for Robert and sausages for Laura along with the grilled red peppers.
