Bus journey of hell & the blue toon Jodhpur

Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India
So our overnight bus sleeper journey from Udaipur can only be described as HELL - we had what can only be described as a "double coffin" to crawl up into - we lay down to try n sleep but with a crazy indian driver swerving in and out traffic hitting every pot hole in the road meant us literally rolling about this tiny space, that along with the severe braking, not to mention the honking of the super loud bus horn - sleeping was not made easy.

After the help of a wee sleeping tablet we must have just drifted off - I woke thinking what the hell is Marc doing with that bottle of water only to realise that the seal on our window was broke and the monsoon rain was literally pouring onto my bed - I tried to stem it with a towel but by this point the whole bed was soaked, the bus was stopped but the driver did nothing except point to another single bed - so Marc moved out and I got to lay in my wet clothes cold with the smell of damp and wetness inside my coffin :-( thankfully the lightening storm outside occupied us for the rest of the journey - NEVER AGAIN !!

Aside from that Jodhpur was a good place to end India it is know as the blue city as many of the houses are painted blue so its cool and the people were not hassling us too much and the place had a nice feel to it . A couple we met in Udaipur Sadie & James arrived too so we hung with them for the few days visited the giant Mehrangarh Fort and spent the day partying when we found the government off licence - cheap booze and great company.

We also tried a bang lassie - its can only be described as the drinking equivalent of a hash cake - they are famous in Rajasthan so I guess when in Rome eh ......... so we one one night from the guy then we went back to the room watched a movie - munched our way through crisps n chocolate and slept like babies haha

We did also discover the "omlette man" it is in the lonely planet as THE best cheese masala omelette - after 7 weeks of pretty much omelette for breakfast I was totally done with them for breakfast - but mmm mmm mmm by god it was tasty chilli, coriander and cheese n spices cooked by the side of the road it was utterly delicious http://omeletteshop.webnode.com// there is fake one the other side of the clock tower so make sure its the one with the Lonely Planet sign

So thats pretty much the end of our 7 weeks in India we treated ourselves to 3rd class Air Con for our 20 hour train to Mumbai just to see what it is like since we have done Sleeper class the whole trip.
