Trying to cycle the city walls !!

Xi'an, Shaanxi, China
So we got an air con sleeper train from Chengdu to Xian we figure this time the train will be a bit quieter with the windows closed and sure enough it seemed like it at first then the train got going and there was an almighty squeaking noise coming from the connection of the 2 train carridges that continued all night it was soooo fooking annoying – and once again we were woken at 6am by the crazy noise of awake people- consideration for anyone still sleeping does not exist! Not the best train journey but at least we got some sleet.

We chilled the first day in Xian then tried to catch up on some sleep – we had booked a 4 bed dorm as it was half the price of a room in a bid to save some cash – we didn't sleep much again due to other peoples inconsiderateness so we promptly booked a private room for the next night haha at least we tried them haha

The next day we hired a couple of old bicyles to cycle the city walls which are still intact and seeing as there was no traffic on it just bikes we figured it was a safe bet . The walls run 10 miles around the city and we were almost done – instead of walking up the ramp we stood up on the rickity old bikes and started pedling like mad to get up the ramp – next min half way up the ramp Marc goes flying off his bike in front of me – his chain had come off which sent him flying through the air and he landed with an almighty crash – I shit myself to say the least, his shoulder and hands took most of it but his knees, legs arms were all scratch – thank goodness he was ok just a couple of red raw hands – I have my own wee warrior now bless him. As for the stupid bike, got the chain back on and it got us back thankfully as it was not absolutely roasting.
