Ko Phi Phi , Krabi, Thailand
We arrive in Phi Phi after another bus/boat trip from Phuket - the ferry trip was only a couple of hours so it wasnt too bad.

We hadnt booked any rooms for Phi Phi we figured we could get a nice beach hut on the beach when we arrived and wanted to look first - as it turns out its not that easy and really aint any huts directly on the beach - some were up a hillside and we didnt fancy that - so after about 2 hours of me and Marsha (one of girls we met in Bangkok who we have been travelling with) wandering around the rooms were ridiculously overpriced for what they were and non of them had balconies or sea facing so we opted for the super budget end of the scale since there was gonna be no on the beach huts we ended up in a cheapo musty room with shared bathroom and as it turned out it had no power points to charge stuff you had to use the plugs at reception - how mad is that eh. Oh well it was cheap and we needed to save some money, Thailand has been the most expensive country we have been in so far - yeah sure its cheap compared to the UK but as a backpacker some dinner/alcohol prices are almost the same as london !!

So we head out for dinner then the main thing to do here is get a bucket and head down the beach to party - bucket consists of a bottle of filthy cheap local spirits a can of juice and a red bull - I opted for rum n coke....how bad can it be !! Well it was disgusting tasted not a lot like rum but it did the job - we went out with the girls to the beach which was full of fire dancer people and then went a wander up the town and met a nice couple and got reeking drink get with them, on the way home we scoffed a load of pizza and passed out.

Phi Phi is good its fun and its a nice island but we had heard so many people say its AMAZING I think we expected a bit more when we arrived, no beach hut and just tons of young people staggering about the place and the only thing to really do was get drunk every night and dance down the beach - the bars are so close together you can hear the bar next doors music too - we had a good time but I think we are in need of some proper dance music, no cheesy tunes and a dam good session of a night out, the place was expensive for rooms & food too so going to do the boat trip to see where the beach was filmed tomorrow then head off somewhere else.

Costs
Cost of a musty room with no power plugs & shared bathroom - £6.29
Cost of indian meal - £5 per person
Slice of pizza - £1.70
Cost of large beer in a bar - £2.20
Cost of a bucket - £2.50 - £4.19 depending of spirit
