Chiang Mai, Thailand
Today was another action packed day of things to do - we headed off for the day with Marsha & Kurynn and our own private taxi - the plan for today...visit to see a new born baby elephant, head to tiger temple and to go and see a tribe of people with extremely long necks !!

Baby Elephants
So I live in hope of one day being able to get super close to a baby elephant and we head to a camp where there is a newborn 24 days old and also another one at 9 months old .  The little baby is gorgeous but the mum is super protective of it - the mahoot guy took in the camera to take pics for us - I wanted to jump in there too but sooooo not possible.  The other baby at 9 months we were allowed to feed it was sniffing my hand and trying to grab my fingers when I was giving it bananas hehe - been a great 2 days of elephants.

On the way to the elephants we spotted a giant spider and a tiny little snake - so cool.

Tiger Temple
Next we headed off to Tiger Temple where you get to be up close and personal with tigers - there is lots of chat with regard to are they or are they not sedated, apparently they have been brought up around humans and they are nocturnal animals and its so hot they just laze around and sleep all day and are used to human touch.

So all that aside we select which ones we want to go into so we big the biggest and the smallest tigers - you get 15 mins in each cage - we first head to the baby cubs who were only a couple of months old - they were so playful and when I lay down to get my pic taken this other started climbing on me - their paws still felt huge - one of the other ones took a shine to Marc too and was clambering all over him it was great.

Next it was time for the biggest ones - there were 4 tigers in the area and it was pretty scary going in the guys are getting us to lay on the tigers and they were encouraging us to lay on them more !!   Needless to say we got our pics and got out - it was absolutely mental your laying your head on its stomach and its panting away knowing at any point it could just think today I have had enough of tourists and eat you haha .  Amazing experience we will never forget.

Long Neck Tribe
We headed to see the long necks, they are a tribe of people who believe that the longer hte neck the more beautiful they are and from an early age they wear these brass rings around their necks gradually increasing them - we picked these up and they are mighty heavy - it cannot be comfortable at all especially in the heat !!  It was a small tribe and it was setup for tourists with stalls selling all sorts of things but it was cool to see.

Butterfly Farm & Orchids
Last stop on the way home was a butterfly farm and orchid gardens - there were some cool butterflies one of them were the size of my hand.

So after an exhausting day we headed back for a nap - tonight Marc's mates are arriving so its going to be madness for the next few days.
