So we decided that we would get the boat/bus to Phuket and fly to Chiang Mai - time was not on our side and the overground to Chiang Mai involved almost 24 straight hours of travel so a flight was in order.

Seeing as it was full moon party the prices for everything just rocket - we found a flight out of Phuket and according to our hotel we could get the boat at 7am then the bus and be in Phuket at 2 .30pm - perfect a wee afternoon on the beach then flight at 1030am the next day.

Of course it didnt turn out like that we ended getting in nearer to 7pm having been on a taxi, boat, bus no1, bus no 2 then minivan no 3 !!!!!!!! The whole thing was a joke we had to pay extra cash half way through the journey to get us there for 7pm or else it would have been even later. The guys at the bus place were assholes to put it politely they knew you were stuck in middle of nowhere so you had to pay up !!! On a bus for an hour stop for an hour n half then go on another bus bla bla bla we ended up in a minivan with bags piled up around us!

So no afternoon on the beach we went for food then we had another cider - one for the road n all ....we were shattered so it was early night ready for our flight tomorrow.
