So our journey to Aus was a 2.5 hour flight to Darwyn leavening at 2250 then a wait of 3 hours then another 2.5 hours flight to Cairns – so once again we were awake all night as we arrived in Cairns, thankfully customs were really nice to us and let us go straight though – most people were getting their bags checked and we had a bit too many cigarettes with us but woo hoo through we went. We waited over an hour for our bags in Cairns but eventually we were in a taxi to Jucy to pick up our home for the next 16 days EEEEK – I was nervous as I am the only driver and we werent sure how we were gonna cope in a van haha.

So we picked her up and drove down the seafront to get a kip as we were shattered, anyway we ended up talking to a local old guy who was in a van too – hilarious he was kept telling rude jokes, anyway he gave us tips on what to see on the way down the road and also advice about where to camp . It cost around $35 dollars to park up in a camp site at night so we had hoped to do that as little as possible to save money, the prob is that you can get fined if you just park up in certain areas so we didn't want that either. The guy was so lovely we chatted for a while and he sent us on our way with a bag of sweet potatoes hehe delighted.

We the however ended up in Nandos mmmmmmmm delicious then we drove to this place just noth of Ellis beach, we found the lay by and parked up, it was right next to the beach and there was only one other van there – the beach was amazing not a soul in sight.

It was now 6pm we pulled out the downstairs bed as we figured the upstairs was more scary haha. Once we got in the van it was fooking boiling we only had a back window that popped out and we were too scared to leave the door open cause of bugs and the bogey man haha.

I woke up at 2130 and it was now dark and super scary ouside, I was bursting on a pee though so I had to get outside – not to mention the fact we were utterly sweating!! We sat for a hour or so with the door open in the darkenss with the sound of the ocean, if we hadnt been so far out of our comfort zone it might have been nice haha .

We crawled back into our sweatbox and slept till morning, we opened the door when it was light outside and fell back asleep. We got up about 1130am sticky and half sleepy but we got up and ran into the sea – still no-one in sight it was amazing, we just giggled to ourselves at last nights scareyness and decided we were hardcore to just park up and sleep somewhere random on our first night in Australia!!

We spent the day soring out the van and unpacking our stuff – we had our wee tea and cereal that we got from the supermarket the day before and checked out the upstairs bed- it has windows with mosquito nets so we decided it would defo be cooler up there.

We headed back into Cairns and found showers at the lagoon area which were amazing, we filled up the water bottles too ready to go back in the

Its early night tonight we are going scuba diving to the great barrier reef tomorrow at 7am EEEEEEEEEEK I hope I am ok. First though we need to find somewhere to park up and sleep.
