Fraser Island Tour - Day 2

Fraser Island, Queensland, Australia
Hoooray at last the sun is shining and I felt like I had been reborn after my super sleep haha. We got up and once again stuffed or faces on the buffet breakfast - Australia is doing nothing for the weight loss !!

Today we went to see Elli creek where the water was sooo clear and cold, we climbed up Indian Head which is a huge lookout point and you can see down into the sea below and its not uncommon to see whales, sharks, rays and turtles as the water is so clear, today however the sea was a bit rough but we still managed to see a shark and a manta ray down below and the views along the island were utterly amazing - it seems every beach so far in this country is stunning with white sand and bluest of water and barely anyone on them .

We went to whats called the champagne pools where there is often pools of water on the sand deep enough to swim in, again it was just beautiful what a difference the sun makes. The last stop was the Maheno shipwreck, this was originally built in 1905 in Dumbarton, Scotland and had been used as a cruise ship and also a hospital during the war until it was caught in a cyclone and ended up wrecked on Fraser Island in 1935, its sunk a fair bit into the sand now but it was still cool.

You could have also took a pleasure flight over the island in a wee propeller plane but I think Marc would have rather got in with the sharks that went on this hehe.

We had a great day today thank goodness for the sunshine, we got back to Rainbow Beach had a wee snooze then went out to watch the Man city v Man U game which topped the great day off for Marc with City winning 6-1.

We slept outside the hostel tonight since they close their gates until 7am and we had to be up early to get to Tin Can Bay to feed the dolphins.
