Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The sun has finally came out in Rio and alas its time for us to leave we had already stayed longer than planned in order to have some sunshine time .

Tonight we headed to "the rock" which overlooks Ipanema Beach and is a renowned place to watch the sunset so we grabbed a few beers and headed up, lucky we got there early and got a seat as tons of people kept arriving to gather on this rock, eventually just as the sun set everyone got up and clapped and cheered several times, was really cool. Thanks to the beers though I was absolutely bursting for a pee so it was a fast exit off the rock to get to a toilet haha

Bums, Beaches & Bikkini's
I cant leave Rio and not mention the beach life, more importantly "appropriate beachwear" it has to be said that in my bikkini it looked as if I was almost fully dressed compared to the Brazilian attire. The standard wear is a thong bikini as small as possible and trunks for the men and best of all these rules apply to whatever size of person you are, its great fat and thin everyone is getting the same tan lines and noone cares whats hanging out where . Not only that you wander the shops or the streets away from the beach and the men are still in their trunks, no t-shirts or shorts just trunks and flip flops...eating at cafe's you name it - not so much the girls.... sorry boys !

So in true pervert fashion I managed to capture a few shots below as there is no point in just explaining this is there? God only knows what is the secret of some of the girls have here to having these cellulite free perfect backsides!!!!!

We are heading off tomorrow on another mammoth long journey to get back to Bolivia by bus - Brazil has also crippled our already dying budget, if only flights were affordable in these countries - I have new found love for easyjet LOL

Have had an amazing time in Rio and sad that we cant afford to spend more time in Brazil the people have been lovely and the country is beautiful, here's to 2014 when we hopefully can make it here for the world cup :-)

Costs
Brazil has been expensive mainly due to the time of year we were here, prices of Rio accommodation at New Year just go through the roof .

There was a min stay of 4 nights at all hostels for NY (for carnival its 7) -
So per night it was £116 for 2 of us in a 12 bed dorm for 4 nights
After the 4 days it went down to £26 per night in the 12 bed dorm !!

Cost of a 350ml can of beer at the beach - £1.50
Cost of a 2l botle of water £1.10
Cost to go to a Rodizio (all you can eat meat buffet) - £13 per person
Cost of taxi from Copacabana to the bus station - £15
