So a nice short bus ride from Cartagena to Santa Marta of only 4-5 hours then we jumped in a taxi to Taganga, the ride in looked promising along the coast it looked pretty. We arrived at the Bayview Hostel which has mixed reviews online but its meant to be a party hostel, anyway they had messed up our booking and the owner was totally rude so we promptly left and found Hostel Casse Felipe up the hill which was much nicer.

We had heard this place was amazing great partying and its on the Caribbean coast so beautiful beaches, well the one here was prob one of the worst we had on this trip, the sand was gravel and it wasnt all that . If you go to the national park they are meant to be nicer but we didn't bother - seen enough beaches on this trip we chose to save our cash instead for USA. Apart from the main front street the rest of the place is a dump - dirt track roads with rubbish lying around...hard to see what the attraction is of this place, maybe we have just been spoiled with some of the places we have been to.

Not that much of a party scene...
We spent our time here mostly drinking in the hostel it had a great outdoor area and we met a fair few different types of people that defo made it interesting lol. The first night we went down the main street and there wasnt really any bars to go to and only one club that closes at 1pm it didn't really have a good feel to the place it defo felt a bit dodgy - something we hadn't felt anywhere yet- we didnt even bother moving from the hostel most nights after that we weren't missing anything. 

Over the next week we heard various stories of people getting searched by police but it wasn't for the drugs this place is know for, it seemed it was for money or iphones, they would take these instead until you went to the ATM to give them cash for it - rather disappointing to hear this stuff since through all the rest of Columbia or South America we haven't really heard of this kinda corruption - I guess certain areas still have a long way to go !!

We spent the week here just getting impatient now we cannot wait to get to America.
