So we made the choice a month ago that we would fork out the extra cash to fly from Santa Marta - Lima, I dont think we would have survived at least 4 days of bus journeys through 3 countries and 2 border crossings and god knows how many different buses, we are 100% defo at breaking point of travel in South America haha. So we fly Santa Marta to Bogota with a 3 hour wait we are landing in Lima woo hoo. We jump in a cab and get to our hostel, we were recommended this place as it was a bit different and that it was....it was of huge grandeur inside with pictures and statues and staircases, outside our room in the courtyard/communal area we had a cage of budgies, some other birds, 2 peacocks roaming around, 3 tortoises and a huge parrot that sat on the same statue everyday - it was like a wee zoo, waiting on breakfast one morning out came from the kitchen 2 of the tortoises the guy trying not to stand on them as he brings our breakfast haha

Wind down time 
We were in the old town area of Lima which has nice plaza and areas to walk around, we were mostly here to catch up on sleep from Taganga so we chilled out watched TV and caught up with sleep . Our room was decent we got a good sleep after getting used to the budgies haha.

We are definitely ready to leave South America and get to some western civilisation - if I eat one more place of chicken, rice and beans I might die haha - its done us good though not having any western chain food and being skint we have lost the weight we put on in Oz and Argentina - easy when there is no yummy food to tempt you. Don't get me wrong there are "nice" restaurants but our budget just doesn't allow it no more lol. God knows how we are gonna keep that weight off in America agggggggg
