It's hard to believe that it has been 355 days since my last adventure ended. Now it is time to begin a new one. Yesterday afternoon, I flew from Dulles to Paris, where I am now waiting for my connecting flight to Florence.
As airplane travel goes, the first leg of my trip was certainly amazing. I was lucky enough to get an upgrade to Business class on Air France, that will make it hard to go back to the cattle car mentality of coach. The plane was on of the new Airbus 380s, and the luxury of a seat that almost reclined into a bed was wonderful, as was the seat width, that actually let me sleep on my side. However, the flight was too short and we landed in Paris a little before 6 am. That could be midnight on the East Coast. Getting from one terminal to another is still a trek at CDG, but the old bus system has been replace by a high speed rail. It was also strange that I had to go through passport control before making the connection. Maybe it is because I'm traveling to another EU country.
